About

Sherry Xiao Cung

Born and raised in Shanghai, currently residing in New York, with family members all over Asia, Europe and America, Sherry is never a stranger to meeting new people and connecting with them all her life. As a former corporate HR, she found her passion in identifying each individual's uniqueness and helping them become their better selves.

Coming from a luxury fashion industry, Sherry is always drawn to beautiful things in her life. The first time she stepped on the mat, though tumbled throughout the whole 60 minutes, she was still fascinated by the beauty of the movement and the flow of energy. She eventually left her corporate job and decided to take the yoga teacher training because she wanted to share all those beautiful moments and benefits that yoga has brought her with more people out there.

Sherry's Yogic Experience

A Forever Student.

A Life Long Practice.

Sherry completed her 200hr teacher training at Yogaworks with Jodie Rufty and her 300hr teacher training at Aligned Yoga with Briohny Smyth. She sees herself as a forever student on this yogic journey where she is grateful for all her teachers and students along the way, sharing their wisdom and practice with her and inspiring her to challenge herself continuously.

Sherry's teaching is designed to offer her students tools and techniques to access their own unique body's needs, create new connection to the body and the mind. From foundational basics on the architecture of asanas, blending strength and flexibility in the flow, to breaking down on alignments in advanced postures. Sherry loves helping her students discover the range of their abilities and is committed to the growth of theirs. She enjoys teaching from an align-and-flow aspect because it is how she started her yogic journey and she is a firm believer that only when you are free from the body, you are closer to freeing your mind and soul.
